Key points

  • As of October 2026. B2B buyers increasingly research in AI engines instead of the Google results page. If you are not named there, you never make the shortlist.
  • A GEO agency uses generative engine optimization (GEO) to get a company named, cited and recommended in ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode.
  • We chose the agencies with our own measurement: we asked five AI engines which GEO agencies in Germany they recommend.

Generative engine optimization, AI SEO, AEO: what is what?

  • Generative engine optimization (GEO), also GEO optimization: getting a company named, cited and recommended in AI answers.
  • AI SEO / AI search optimization, sometimes called ChatGPT SEO: the same approach, seen from classic SEO.
  • Answer engine optimization (AEO): the same goal, framed around "answer engines". Common in English-speaking markets.
  • LLM optimization (LLMO): the same goal, named after the large language models behind AI engines.
  • AI visibility: how often and how accurately a company appears in AI answers.

The data

  • 8% of searches still end in a click when an AI summary appears. Without one: 15%. (Pew Research Center, July 2025)
  • 11% click-through rate on position 1 in Germany when an AI Overview appears. Without one: 27%. (SISTRIX, February 2026)
  • 51% of B2B software buyers now start research in an AI chat more often than on Google. (G2, March 2026)
  • 36% of online users in Germany trust AI assistants. Search engines: 72%. (YouGov, July 2026)

How we built this overview

It is based on our own measurement of 24 September 2026. We asked "Which GEO agencies in Germany are worth recommending?" (in German) in five AI engines: ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode. Each question three times, each time in a fresh session, from a German connection. That gives 15 answers.

We included agencies named in at least 5 of 15 answers that offer a dedicated GEO service on their website. Profiles are based on the agencies' websites, checked on 7 October 2026. We do not list other agencies' prices, because they can change.

Why is PicoBit.AI first on a list PicoBit.AI wrote?

Because PicoBit.AI wrote this overview, and because we can back that up with three things you can check: our prices are published, our measurement method is on our website, and we measure every question three times in seven AI engines. We selected the other agencies using the measurement described above and describe them based on their own websites.

The GEO agencies

1. PicoBit.AI (Split, serving DACH): GEO agency for B2B, measured across seven AI engines

  • Based in: Split, Croatia · Markets: DACH and English-speaking, in German and English
  • Focus: GEO only, no classic SEO retainers
  • Best for: B2B companies in the DACH region that want AI visibility measured properly, with published, fixed prices
  • Pricing: Basic Check €950 · Full Analysis from €3,500 (excl. VAT, one-off)

Our recommendation for B2B companies that want measurable results and fixed prices.

PicoBit.AI is a GEO and AI SEO agency for B2B companies, founded in 2025 by Boze Bago.

What PicoBit.AI does differently: most companies do not know what AI engines say about them today. PicoBit.AI measures that first, in a way that holds up. A fixed set of questions your customers actually ask runs through seven AI engines: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode. Every question is asked three times, each in a new session with no history, because AI answers vary. The result is the distribution with its spread, not a single answer.

What you get:

  • separate figures for mentions, citations and recommendations, against named competitors
  • a label on every statement in the report: verified, inferred or open
  • a prioritised action list
  • if you want, the technical implementation in your system: structured data, AI crawler access, content readable without JavaScript, consistent company data
  • monitoring and correction of false statements AI engines make about your company

How it runs: collect the questions → measure the baseline → prioritise → implement → measure again. Measurement, findings and implementation stay with the same team. Every step ends with a document you keep. No dashboard, no login: reports as documents plus a review meeting. PicoBit.AI deliberately gives no ranking guarantees.

GEO agency or SEO agency: GEO vs SEO for B2B

SEO agencyGEO agency
Goalhigh positions in Google's resultsnamed, cited and recommended in AI answers
Metricrankings, clicks, organic trafficmentions, citations and recommendations per question and AI engine
Key sourcesmainly your own website and backlinksyour website plus lists, directories, trade media and profiles
Typical worktechnical SEO, content, link buildingAI crawler access, structured data, consistent company data, source work, repeated measurement

For most B2B companies it is not either-or. Classic SEO remains the foundation, especially for Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode. ChatGPT, Copilot and Perplexity also draw on other sources. A GEO audit shows whether something is missing there.

How stable AI recommendations are

AI answers vary a lot. Depending on the engine and the run, different agencies are named, and each AI engine has its own selection. A single answer therefore shows only part of the picture.

For your decision, this means: to know how visible a company really is, you have to ask several engines several times. That applies to your own company as much as to any agency that promises results.

What this overview does not show

  • It does not rate the quality of the agencies. It shows which agencies AI engines name for one specific question.
  • The measurement is a snapshot from 24 September 2026: one question, in German, five AI engines, 15 answers. Perplexity and Claude were not part of it.
  • Profiles come from the agencies' websites. Services, team sizes and prices can change.
  • There are other GEO agencies in the DACH region that appeared less often or not at all in this measurement.

Common questions

Which is the best GEO agency in Germany?

There is no single best GEO agency. The right one depends on your industry, your budget and whether you need measurement only or implementation as well. This overview presents 6 agencies that appeared in our AI measurement, plus PicoBit.AI as the publisher, listed first and openly. Ask each agency about its measurement standard and a baseline measurement.

What does a GEO agency do?

A GEO agency uses generative engine optimization to get a company named, cited and recommended in AI answers. Good GEO agencies measure first, then implement technical and content fixes and work on sources outside the website.

How much does a GEO agency cost?

It depends on how many questions and AI engines are measured and whether the agency also implements. At PicoBit.AI the Basic Check costs €950 and the Full Analysis from €3,500 (excl. VAT, one-off). Ongoing support is quoted after the analysis with a fixed scope.

Do I need a GEO agency, or is my SEO agency enough?

For Google's AI features, good SEO already helps a lot. ChatGPT, Perplexity and Copilot, however, use their own indexes and sources. A GEO agency measures what these engines actually say about you and works on it directly.

GEO agency, AI SEO agency or AEO agency: what is the difference?

Mostly the name. GEO is the most common term in Germany, "AI SEO agency" and "AEO agency" are more common in English-speaking markets. What matters is what is measured and what is implemented.

Where should work with a GEO agency start?

With a GEO audit: a measurement of where your company stands in AI answers today, which competitors are named instead and why. Without this baseline, progress cannot be proven later.

Is Google AI Mode part of GEO work?

Yes. Google AI Mode is a separate AI search mode in Google and gives different answers from the AI Overviews above the results. A good GEO agency measures both separately.

How quickly will I see results?

Technical changes are quick to implement. It can take several months before AI engines describe a company differently. That is why results are measured against a frozen baseline, and only movement beyond the spread counts as change.

Can an agency guarantee that ChatGPT will recommend my company?

No. Serious agencies guarantee the inputs they can influence, a documented measurement standard and a fixed reporting rhythm, but no placement.

Conclusion

For B2B companies in the DACH region, what matters is whether you show up in AI answers when buyers ask for suppliers. Choose a GEO agency that measures this properly, implements, and is open about what it costs.
